I like the team, it looks solid, but a there is a lack of firepower up front, but I think this team will fare well. Hopefully we wont have penalty problems as usual with those IIHF refs, this looks like a pretty strong team. Im gonna miss Niedermayer on D, and Iginla up front but I see a place in the finals.

What's the word on Phaneuf or Crosby??? I heard they might get a shot... could Bertuzzi's spot be available for "The Next One"? I believe Phaneuf would benefit the team more than Boyle, even with no experience. Seeing how it IS a "B" squad i think they should get the call.

Phaneuf and Crosby are in the CHL Playoffs right now...and this team is no "B" squad, it's a solid A!

I'll be the first to say, Canada's defense is ROCK SOLID!(even without Pronger, Blake, & Neidermeyer) If they go anywhere this tournament it'll be because of them. Aside from defense, their lines are stretched pretty thin. Last olympics, our fourth line checkers consisted of Doan, Draper, & Thorton, i see them on the second line this time around. Think about it, would we really consider this team our "A" squad... i don't think so. Nothing against Smyth or Heatley but i'd choose (Iginla, Richards, Sakic, Lecavalier, Yzerman, Lemieux, even St. Louis) over them as my "leaders" anyday. I've always been curious whether or not Canada could send two contending teams to international competitions, we'll see if this is true....

Looks like a decent team... goaltending and defence look very solid, while the forwards look decent as a whole, probably won't score a ton of goals but hopefully just enough.

Frankly I'm not sure how this tournament will turn out for Canada... some players have played in Europe, some may be rusty by not playing all year. I don't know... this team could win it all or flame out early in the playoff round, and neither would surprise me.

That said... GO CANADA!

He's playing in the AHL now as well - with the Providence Bruins.

Ok, most of the "contending" nations (with the exeption of the Finns) have now announced at least part of their rosters, and well, relatively speaking, Canada is looking much better to me than they did earlier in the week...
