#16

Robert.

A good, solid Scotch name. I am one in a long line of men in my family with the name Robert.

Walter, the name of both of my grandfathers.

Trina. My parents were foolish enough to let my older brother (who was only 4 at the time) pick my middle name. No 4 year old should ever have that power.

I was five when my sister was born. My parents asked me to pick her name, so in the weeks leading up to her birth I put my five year old noggin to work and came up with: Carol-Anne (After the woman on the TVO series "The Polka Dot Door") for a girl and Lex Luther (After the superman villain) for a boy.

My parents played along saying that if it was a boy, he'd be named Lex Luther. When she was born, they split the difference on my suggestion and called her "Carolyn." But oh how I woulda loved a brother named Lex... Smile

The Polka Dot Door ruled! And it's a good thing your parents had a girl instead Smile Carol-Anne is at least a nice name. A friend's daughter wanted to name her brother or sister Elmo - thank god the family dog gave birth first so now some poor puppy is stuck with that name.

My middle name is Donald, same as my father's first name.

My mother had a boy's first name picked out already, and wanted to give me a saint's name for my middle name... a Christian thing. But my grandmother on my father's side wanted me to carry on my father's name and be Donald II (so to speak). So my parents were torn.

Unfortunately my grandmother died before I was born, so in honour of her my parents came up with a good compromise when I was born.

Thus the world came to know Jason Donald Monteith.
