Thanks everyone. It's not really a big deal now. I've set up an Excel sheet with macros that automatically update all of the stats. The only thing that I have to do now is copy and paste the setlist, and clean it up a bit to get it into the correct format. It only takes me a minute or two to update after every show.

I did spend quite a while getting everything set up originally (and there is still a bit more that I'd like to do), but in some perverse and demented way I find that sort of thing fun! Hello, my name is James, and I'm an Excel geek.

Great work! The only thing I can use Excel for is my running list of concerts I go to (Yes, I have a chronological list of every show I've seen in the past four years)

I don't feel like starting another setlist debate--and really, when you look at those stats it's hard to argue that the band doesn't mix things up at least a little bit. As a point of comparison, however, I'll just throw this one out there. Last year I saw Pearl Jam five times. Two of those five shows were back-to-back nights in Toronto and Montreal. How many different songs did they play at those two shows, not counting improvs? Fifty-three. Only repeats: "Better Man", "Even Flow" and "Save You". Now, granted, Pearl Jam isn't the best comparison...I mean, no one mixes it up like they do. Still, in the name of raw data, I figured it was worth a mention. 8)

Pearl Jam are a good band but these comparisons to their setlists are getting old to me. Maybe I'm the only one. Hey, I even have a gripe about Pearl Jam. If they are so great to the fans, why don't they ever come further east than Montreal? (I know I'm reaching but hey, I don't get to see Pearl Jam so their setlist doesn't really matter to me) At least I get to see the Hip live, which I enjoy immensely.

Perhaps you'd like to see them at Myron's in Charlottetown? :lol: Actually this is a complaint I have about a lot of bands. Pearl Jam are as incomprehensibly rich as Bob Dylan or B. B. King, and both artists have been to the Maritimes twice since 2000. Both times they nearly sold out the Metro Centre. Both put on amazing shows for fans who were even more appreciative than normal because we never expected to see their high-falutin' asses again.

(Sorry for inadvertantly mentioning Bob Dylan's ass) :oops: 8)

Well there you go! I know Pearl Jam being an American band and all have enough of the US to cover on a tour but you just mentioned Dylan coming to the maritimes, and B.B. King. So Pearl Jam aren't the perfect band, contrary to some people's beliefs.

An Excel geek, yes... but I'm waiting for an interest in image analysis and recognition to kick in, so that you can automatically download the setlists from the websites, read them in and add update things. Just give it time... it'll come.
