So, I got a copy of “Roller Coaster Tycoon” out of a cereal box about two weeks ago, and I have to warn everyone: this thing is addictive!

I’ve become quite the king of Roller Coaster Tycoonery, but I’m having trouble stopping. It’s 3am, and I’m actually considering whether or not to build a Corkscrew Rollercoaster or a Log Flume Water Ride… something ‘aint right with this picture.

And while I’m here, let me tell you why I hate strip joints. Now, I’m a healthy, red-blooded, heterosexual male, and I like naked women just as much as the next dude. I just got back from a stag party at a strip joint… and let me tell you why I’m just not a fan.

First, I call it the “Mona Lisa Affect:” You’ve heard about it, you’ve seen it on TV, and you know it’d be kinda cool to see it in person. Once you get there, you can stare at her for five, ten, maybe even fifteen minutes. But eventually, you start to realize that it’s the same old, same old. Sure, it’s great and all… but once you’ve looked once… you’ve seen it. “Oh, you’ve got a pair? Well, so did the first twelve chicks.”

Second, the “Pan Handler Affect:” You ever walked down Elgin St., Younge St. or (Insert major drag in your town here) and had the street folks hit you up for cash? Well, the strippers manage to convert that charming “Spare some change?” appeal into a sexy look that says: “Oh, you’re sexy. I wanna sleep with you… spare some change?” Look honey, I know you’re after my cash, I know you look that way at all the marks, I aint buying: can you play the harmonica or write a funny sign?

Strip joints are like listening to TheoryOfaNickleCreed: just a waste of time and money.

strippers can be annoying, pathetic, vicious asswhipes sometimes. one called me a "fag" for not through loonies at her vagina!? YES, THATS GONNA MAKE ME DO IT!!! I WANNA GO BACK!
and stories i have heard......strippers says you owe her money from a dance ect....hope you came with about 10 friends because bouncers will go as far a snapping your neck the second you step out side.
strippers are not far from being hookers. if a gal wants to do it for a bit, say amature, then who cares, but its a life of drugs, sex and crime.

I was surprised by how tiny the painting actually is although maybe it just seemed that way from 10 meters distance - couldn't really get any closer due to the hord of tourists crowding the area.

I was there in Nov 2003 - isn't the Louvre one of the most amazing museums? It completely blew me away.

Yeah, I had no idea I'd enjoy the Louvre that much. I've never been lost in a museum before, but at least there's lots to look at while you're trying to get yourself oriented. Seeing the Mona Lisa was really, really cool, although I still can't figure out why it's so famous - it was weird to see one Da Vinci recieving so much attention, and another Da Vinci recieving none. Some other great paintings, like the famous one of Louis XIV, had no one around, yet people were trampeling each other to get a picture of the Venus de Milo. My favorite area, the Messopotamian sculptures and writings, were so empty I was usually the only person in the room.

Yeah I still have the map they were handing out at the museum at the time and the place is huge. I spent a whole day there and I still feel like I only saw a portion of what was on offer.
The Messopotamian area was definitely cool, so much to see and learn. I'm also a big fan of the sculptures, not necessarily the Venus de Milo though, I saw many there that were much more beautiful than the Venus de Milo in my opinion. You do the touristy thing and walk around with the headphones stuck to your head? :lol:

Ahh, the "Show-Me" state :lol: :lol: I once had a wedding to attend to in St Louis, an old college friend of mine, and for our stag party we went to a local strip joint. The bride decided to hold her own bachoerlette (sp?) party at a Chippendale's club a few blocks down the road! Strip joints are weird, no doubt about it.

Sounds like they were made for each other :lol:

This was interesting to read, I just home from Paris. A few days ago I saw the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, and the night before I had a terrible experience at a strip joint.

Actually, I thought it was a strip joint, but it turned out to be a brothel. I tried to get the hell out of there, but the bouncer wouldn't let me leave, I was robbed of $500, a pimp threatened to punch me, a hooker tried to steal my wallet, and I wound up running from the bouncer through the streets of Paris in the middle of the night. It's a great story, I'll type it up later when I'm not so tired.

I have Mall Of America Tycoon and if it wasn't such a piece of shit, I would be addicted to it. I have Sim Theme park and THAT is addicting, as well as THE SIMS.
