Are the Hip wealthy?
#16

How many years did they do this: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hipbase.com/archive.php?archive=1067553163&subaction=list-archive&">http://www.hipbase.com/archive.php?arch ... t-archive&</a><!-- m --> ??

Album sales (their back catalog does well year after year), merchandise and touring add up to a lot of dollars. And they have a studio that is in demand, gaining $$$ and possibly royalties from other artists who record there.

They've done quite well over the years, and have probably planned for the future, eliminating the opportunity for rock star excesses.

I'm may be in the minority but I'd take a million dollars over a girlfriend at this particular moment. Besides, I don't know if I'll ever want to get attached to someone for too long (aka marriage). Maybe it'll happen but not in the near future.

Happiness or Riches?
Happiness or Riches?
Hmmmm...
Would I rather be broke and happy?
Or would I rather be rich and miserable?
Ha!
It's a no-brainer...
Bring on the cash!

They say "Money can't buy happiness"?
I just want one chance, hear it, one chance to prove them wrong!

Hmm..I don't know on average I would say that probably around $200,000 a year would be a good guess. Not bad by any means!

Didn't want to imply that money = happiness, its just that in my mind Successful Rock Band = move to L.A., buy a 20 000 square ft house, exotic sports car, SUV with 22 in rims, etc. It often seems to go hand in hand.

Pretty sure Gord D lives down on the Danforth. A friends friend moved in two doors down and he came to introduce himself. She was like, "hey, you're the Hip guy." He was very nice in his response, cause I'm sure he hears that all the time. She said he drives a mini-van (with 4 kids to transport around you need one right?) but has a Jaguar in the garage.
