the hip.com is slipping
#16

OK I really believe the website's quality/lack of updates has something to do with the current management team. I do not believe e-mailing the tth@thehip.com will do anything.

I think we need to complain to the people that handle the Hip's business. This would be Macklam/Feldman Management. Their site is http://www.slfa.com. According to the site, Dave Levinson is The Hip's Project Manager. You can verify this by going to www.slfa.com, click on Contact Us, then click on Macklam/Feldman Management.

Oh yeah, Ross Walton is still the contact person for gorddownie.com since Gord (as a solo artist) is still managed by Jake Gold. Remember when people were complaining that Jake did nothing for the Hip as a manager when this new management team was announced. hmmm makes me wonder.

thehip.com used to be on the ball. up to date news and when concert dates were announced you heard it first either from the site or thru the news letters. who's dropping the ball over there?? new management??
or are people still shaking the rust off from the offseason?? :x
p.s. no hipclub perk for darien lake sucks!! :x

It's probably just an "off season" thing. Over the last few years whenever the Hip are on the road, their site is updated constantly. I get most of my info from this place though, so it doesn't really matter anyway.

Everything from the info on the site, to the whole look of it I couldn't stand once IVL came out. I just laugh when I get emails from www.thehip.com and THC with "news" that we knew about here for weeks.

I remember when The Hip's site used to be considered innovative and even won a few awards from www.canoe.ca if I'm not mistaken. I only visit the official site when I hear about something cool, or layout changes I find out about here.

man oh man, im so glad everyone feels the same way. i check the site EVERY SINGLE DAY, just to make sure theres been no updates, because i cant help but think 'maybe, just maybe'.... and every day when i see theres nothing i get more and more peeved.

do they not realize that people need solid concert dates months in advance, for scheduling time off work, etc. I emailed thehip.com on APRIL 5(!?) concerning this lack of communication, and i am yet to recieve a response...*sigh*

Well let's bomb them --- Their format for email is lastname@slfa.com.
So if levinson@slfa.com received 5-10 well written emails with legit complaints do you think they would respond? Do you think we would see an improvement of any type? I am sure most feel what's done is done... but I always like to come from the palce of "let's give'er a shot" There is a half a dozen of us discussing it here...

I've met Ross before... he lurked aorund on the henhouse list for years and I'm sure he's still around ....as a member of hipbase. He could shed some light maybe ?

Not sure where I'm heading with all this ramble..... Confusedcratch:

You may have noticed that the entire website has been updated to use the 'wooden' background instead of the IVL background. I hadn't noticed it until today, so it may have been launched today.

There's now a story on the news page about the Molson Amphitheatre show. The story is dated Tuesday but it didn't appear on the website until Saturday. That suggests to me that the problem isn't so much the hip as it is the people running the website.
