That would be cool....if it did get leaked though, I'd feel bad for not respecting their release date...but I'd end up buying 3 copies anyways...one for the car, one for work and one for in my apartment.

Let's hope that Summer's Killing Us and Vaccination Scar will tie us over for another 5 weeks...

After downloading MAW simply because I wanted to hear the stuff early (I bought two copies) I'm absolutely willing to wait for the official release this time around and honour their wishes. VS & SKU will definitely tide me over (and so will the countdown - switching discs weekly).

I too will buy a copy when it is released but if I can download it early I will. It kinda pees me off that the record is done and released to music execs 5 weeks in advance. Why should they get to hear it and not us diehard fans? Also why should the music guys get to pick who gets to hear it early? Sounds like Irish happens to work in the right place. It doesn't matter to me if the record didn't leave your office or you didn't make copies of it you got to hear it early and the rest of us didn't. Just unlucky I guess. I agree with whoever said the record will leak. Not everyone is as scrupulous as Irish. If the record is done get it out there don't try and nickel and dime us with that puretrack crap.

Why buy three copies, as far as I understand you are allowed to burn copies as long as they are for personal use ie. home, office and car. Spend the extra money on Hip tix!

So as the record rep went upstairs to handle a Matt Good interview i whipped the cd into my cd player and cranked it up and here is what i was able to get from that experience!

Matt Good interview huh? Any word on his new album? (White Light Rock & Roll Review, to be released in June sometime)

Here is what I do not understand...with all the worrying about downloading and leaking, why don't the record companies revert to the tradition in the 60s of hyping an album while it's still being made, releasing a single before every song on the record is completely finished, and rushing it to stores within days or week of being completely finished? Worked pretty well for Dylan and Led Zep! And that was jsut the way it was done, not to avoid leaking. It makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER to have an album sitting around twiddling its proverbial thumbs for two months!

The only thing I get from the record date is maybe the country's greatest band wanted to release it near Canada Day, but other than that, the date makes no sense.

Great review! From what has been described, it sounds as if this CD will meet all my expectations.

From Irish Hip Guy's post, I see Gord has slipped in a few F. U.'s into the lyrics again. I noticed he does this in concert occasionally too. The swearing doesn't bother me personally, but my kids (ages 5 &7) are very big Hip fans and they will be listening to this CD on a regular basis. Also, when I am home I always have on some Hip CD or bootleg, so the neighborhood kids who come over here to play are exposed to the music. I just don't want to be the source for all the neighborhood kids learning to swear. I find myself running over to the CD player to quickly turn it down for a second until the lyric passes. (Nothing against the Hip's music, I'm just ranting).

It seems as if this is the rockin' Hip album we've been waiting for. As someone said earlier, this is shaping up to be a fantastic tour to support the new music.

Rest assured Hugh, you're not the only one...:lol: But that little bit of "micro-censorship" is as small price to pay when you hear the kids (mine are 4 & 6) singing along with the rest of the lyrics...:thumb:

My somewhat more subtle method is to initiate a brief but mindless conversation right at that point in any given song...my boys hate it, but so far anyway, they've yet to reproduce any of the questionable lyrics in public, so I figure it must be working! And it saves me from having to run anywhere...:lol:

Anyways I am not afraid to download a leaked album. . if I am going to buy it, what can the band complain about? However, I won't download it. . I just reeally got into music a few years ago. . and have only had the pleasure of listening to a brand new album start to finish once or twice. . . of one of my favourite bands of course.

I think you may be missing the point...While I agree they won't grasp the concept of the words, I've had my guys innocently sing "those words" back to me in mixed company...while cute, it lead to a conversation with my folks I would rather have avoided... :lol:

That said, the line "I remember Buffalo....and I remember Hengelo...It would seem to me I remember every single $%#&'n thing I know" always puts a smile on my face... :mrgreen:
