More slide work on the guitar -- I like.

I guess I'm going to have to break down and get something from pure tracks. I don't know how much good will come from me finding another thing online to spend my money on.

New Hip is Good Hip Smile

As a sidebar, I think I might put on some recent bootlegs as my study music. I think I've heard those lines before, espeically the part right before the fade out.

Cheers,

Pat

Just as an aside...

Is there another band in Canada (or anywhere else, for that matter) that could pull this off? I mean, I can't think of another band that could have enough pull to debut a new single (and possibly announce a release date) to between 1.5 to 2 million people simultaneously (somewhere Chad Kroeger stews...)...

If there was ever any doubt that the Hip are/were/will always be CANADA'S BAND, this ought to salt it away...

I get the feeling this Saturday is going to be a very big night for the band, on the same scale as SNL...

Anybody else listening to it repeatedly? :thumb: My guess for HNIC is some sort of montage (Is that what you'd call it?) over clips of the Leafs vs. Senators from the regular season, maybe mingled in with some live Hip footage? I have to ask again, someone will be recording it, ripping it to mpg and posting? Unfortunately I'll be at work @ the Beer Store while the whole thing goes down, looking forward to hearing it after.... :thumb:

Can't wait for another summer with The Hip!
P.S.-I liked the hint of "Evolution" within the first line of the email/website posting. :thumb:

My thought exactly... a little Hip to add some addrenalin to the intense matchup... and like MikeS said... wow... are you going to find a better place to debut a single? Only the Hip... and I guess it is fitting, afterall, Cherry was in the darkest one, Cherry is a Bruins fan, and Gord's brother works at the Fleet Centre... plus, nobody can deny that The Tragically Hip is Canada's band, hands down...

Holy crap, this is exciting!! The short clip on the website sounds great. Very rockin' and up-tempo. Anyone else notice the kick-ass slide guitar by Robby? Can't wait 'til Saturday!

i know that ron mcleans a huge hip fan and i've seen him at a couple of shows, i'm sure this deal of playing on HNIC had something to do with grapes and mclean.

Obviously, Ron and Don had some pull, but generally speaking CBC has always been pro-Hip, dating all the way back to the "Full Fledged Vanity" TV special in '92 and the Juno appearance from Australia right up to the more recent Salt Lake City show (and interview with Ron) and Queen's Jubilee...

Peter Mansbridge is another huge Hip fan of prominence at the corporation...

Clearly, the band enjoys something of a "royalty" status there...this Saturday will only add to that...

Yeah, you're right. So Canadian that we American fans are excluded once again.

If there was any doubt that the Hip are/were/will always be unrecognized on the American rock scene, this should salt that away as well...... Cry
