He had to get in line to get the actual tickets later. So, for Kingston, you will still have to get there on Friday to get your wristband. Getting the wristband is the important thing, as they know you want them and won't release them.

Do both people have to be there to get a wristband or is it just the one wristband that gets you 2 tickets at the door?

Do you have to be there Friday or are they asking people to try and make it Friday?

I interpret it as you need to be there Friday. From the lottery page:

"*UPDATE: Winners will be now be notified by 1pm ET on Friday, August 19th. To purchase the tickets, lottery winners will need to arrive at the venue's box office between 1pm-8pm local time on FRIDAY, AUGUST 19th. "

This is really unfair. I have big plans tonight in Toronto which I can not miss and I have already sent an RSVP "no" for a wedding for tomorrow just in case I were to win the lottery. Now it's possible I may win the lottery and not even get to go, and miss the wedding? Not a fair change. It's fine if they want to alleviate crowds and offer them on Friday, but you can't fairly remove the ability to get it on the show day. Clearly a large majority of people entering do not live in Kingston. Ugh.

Also, isn't this going to facilitate problems with scalpers which they hoped to avoid? The point of the lottery was to get it to fans who have to enter the building right away, but now the scalpers could have entered, pick up their tickets today, and sold them overnight. I hate this change!

I take it not many hipbase lottery winners? Emails should be out by now and noone seems to be screaming from the rooftops.

Bummer.

According to thehip.com "The ticket lottery for Kingston will close at 11am ET on Friday, August 19 and winners will be notified by email before 1pm ET that day."

I'm still holding out for the 24th hour notification...but time's a ticking!

Numbers range from double digits to 50,000+. Does that really indicate they got 50,000 entries (or even 10,000 people entering 5 times each)?

want to be a nobody without peer
want to be a thought that's never done
want to shake your faith in human nature
