'Tired As F***' released May 6th.

Easy enough to find this on youtube as well.

I kind of love it after two listens. I also enjoy the fact that this can never be played on the radio due to `explicit lyrics'

On the first listen, I couldn't get over how much the intro guitar sounded like "Babylon" by David Grey. On the second listen, I got a real "Hiccups" vibe from the song. A weird little interstitial that wouldn't sound out of place before Dare Devil or Gems in concert. Very Day For Night, without the mid-90s production values.

Add me to the "meh" category. On first listen it sounds like an outtake track. Like the type of Hip song I listen to occasionally like other outtake songs Forest Edge, Ultra Mundane. Our thoughts will change when we see how the whole album fits together.

I'm thinking this was just an extra track dropped onto the internet, not like a "second single" kind of thing.

There's still 6 weeks to go to release, you've gotta think there's another radio-friendly tune coming as well.

I like it. It's an unexpected vibe. Threw me for a loop.

Also...is that mug just like a Cafe Press item or is it a future merch thing 'cause...I want one Tongue

The mix is very unusual for The Hip. Gord's voice is usually so far out in front. Here, it is buried amid acoustically overlapping guitars and percussion. His rhythm and melody are almost independent of the music. I find this song to be interesting, if not engaging.

I loved the first single but not a fan of TAF. I can't lie and say that I'm pretty disappointed in the direction of this album so far. Not that it won't be a good album but I want an album to rock out to. It doesn't have to be like the older material (90's era) but give me Robby's whaling guitar!!

Try the HTTP version - works for me behind our office's great firewall:

Yup, I don't know how they'd do a radio single for this.

They are no longer a rock band. Completely off the rails. Gord can write and sing just fine. But they choose to make easy listening pop songs with no edge whatsoever. Sorry but this song is a turd. This could be a good rock song if they just let loose in the studio for once.
