The quote on Chris & Kate's Great Lakes Bootleg album is: "It's like being on a, on a ... fucking pirate ship!" One of my favourite odd lines of all time. Me and my buddy say it to each other all the time.

Johnny Fay ....like Keith Moon? I like his drumming...but that might be a stretch.
The band sounded really good in the clips of the first couple of shows...but, Gord's voice sounded a little strained in the Metropolis clips? Maybe it was just the recording. Live is always better anyways.

The audio boots don't come close to what you would have heard live.

Personally, I think Johnny is underrated because he started slow. I was never impressed with his playing until In Between Evolution. Summer's Killing Us was the first song where I thought, "Hey, when did Johnny learn to drum!?" Since then, he's been a treat. Say what else you will about Bob Rock's two discs, he knows how to make a drum kit sound good, and Johnny's playing gets better and better.

Cheers,
John

What I meant when I said he was "channeling" Moon was that this tour is about as Moon-esque as I've heard Johnny's playing be. Does he sound like Moon? No, not really. But it's as close to sounding like Moon as I've heard him come.

Im glad Jim B. is just staying on his ass, could you imagine if he was doing Elton John type stuff. It would be so embarassing, they got him to fill in some holes and thats what he is doing. I think he did just fine all 3 nights in Kitchener. Plus without him Gord would not have had that great intro to Greasy Jungle about Jim playing toys on the floor in the hair salon.
Also Ya the band has never sounded better in my opinion. Plus Gords singing is way better then the last 2 tours.
Hopefully if there are some fans that dropped off after World Container screaming vocals, they will come back and give it another try and be surprised beyone their wildest dreams.
