Just came back from the show. Geez, it was like a sauna in there! Didn't deter Gord from being his lively self.
Nevertheless, it was a priceless experience, seeing the Hip in such a small venue! The band was only 10 feet away from me dead centre! Most of the people up front didn't leave during the intermission, and I would suspect most of them were either Canadian expats or visitors! You can't get this back in Canada, where the Hip reign supreme.

Sorry to have missed you VioletLite. I looked hard for 3 crazy girls from Seattle but couldn't find anyone who fit the description. I did make my acquaintance with some local Hip fans, as well as some visitors from BC.

Only disappointment, they didn't play anything from Road Apples, particularly my favorite, Little Bones! Hope they play it when I see them again in Victoria on Saturday the 20th!

I just got home from P-town and let me say what a show! The sound was not so great but it's such a small house it didn't really matter. When I say house I mean barn. It was like standing in a barn with the Hip set up five feet away. The crowed was a good size for the barn and the beer lines went really fast. boy oh boy did we need liquids. Hot is an understatement. That was Africa hot. The band was Africa hot. They rocked the shit out of those songs tonight. Even ABAC was a balls out rocker. I think Berlin gets them all worked up. This band becomes a chrome covered monster truck when you add the organ and saxophone. NOIS was so low and dirty it sounded like a hurricane thundering down on us. Best NOIS I have ever experienced.

My favorite moment was when three drunks upfront insisted on unfurling a Canadian flag and blocking the view on Pauls side. Halfway through Gift Shop I was considering putting my size 11 American boot up the lead drunks ass when...I swear to God.................Gordie took his flag away.

Fucking beautiful.

I love this band.

My girlfriend made friends with them outside and they turned out to nice enough guys and all but I just got to say enough with the flag already. Your Canadian, we get it.
