Match up #15
#16

I thought this would be the final round. I had Nautical, NOIS, ATHM and BAHD picked to be the final rounds.

Hip 64 is an amazing idea and all but you have to sort the songs out a little better than this. In the NCAA, you have the best teams facing the worst teams in the first round. Now all Hip songs are great so it wouldn't be best vs. worst but the songs that have made it big and that everyone is familiar with(abac, blow,100th, nois, grace) should be 1st and 2nd seeds and shouldnt have to face off until the 3rd or 4th round. Anyways, I like Nautical over 100th. I wish 100th was maybe 4:30 minutes long just so i can enjoy it a little more but nautical would appeal to anybody.

Ugh I have to go to with Nautical, even though of the best times of my life involved driving along belting ATHM at the top of my lungs.

I hate this tournament so much (but really love it so please don't stop).

Seeding them would not only be a difficult task, but it would most likely also lead to arguments. Once this whole thing is done, then we could use the ranks they end up in for future seeding?

As much as I love ATHM, I had to go with Nautical Disaster. It's just too damn good!

I went with 100th because, well it just deserves my vote. It is a shame to see it go down this early as it is arguable one of the Hips strongest and most popular songs. This may be the only song that could take it down...possible Grace as well, hard to say.

I agree. It's a shame to see easily a possible winner go out like this - but that's the luck of the draw I guess.

I agree! It took me almost an hour to decide...just listened to the two of them over and over!

Definitely agree! Good idea.

Do we not have the results of the official online survey used to establish the tracks selected for inclusion on Hipeponymous? If so, that would've been the best criteria to seed these pairings.

Ok, I just got in on this. Too bad it's not a final 8 scenario...buuuut I chose nautical in the end.

As I've said before, I agree with the idea of random selection only because seeding the songs would really take away from doing something like this again...in theory, the results would stay (close to) the same if the same people vote. Plus, these early thinkers would be few and far between.

Meridian is a great song, but this one's no contest. Nautical is often cited (with good reason, I think) as the Hip's best song.

It's as faint a sound in memory as those fingernails scratching on my hull!
