I could rant on and on about how great the album is, but instead of just going over what everyone else has said, I'll just say that as of the moment, this is probably my favourite Hip album since TATH. They totally knocked me with this one, with Bob Rock producing, I DID NOT see this coming. VERY pleasant surprise

The songs (especially the title track, The Drop-Off, and Rink), sound much better live though, but on the album, they are still amazing!

My personal ranking of the songs would go something like this:

All of them, save for In View and LNIDYDLM would get 10/10 for me though, In View being 9/10 and Last Night being 7/10 (just not very fond of it at all yet)

I've been playing the album in heavy rotation since the first day it streamed, and I had my "choked up" moment today. I was out in the off leash park with me dog, listening to the album WC, and all of a sudden I had this wave of emotion that hit me during the song WC. To premise it, during the whole album I was reminiscing on different Hip moments I've had over the past 18 years and really thinking about how much this band has meant to me and how they have always been right there with me at the forefront. Then WC the song comes on and blammo, I get all teary eyed.

Ok, sappy moment over, this album is killer! At first I really dug it, then I thought, meh, it's ok. Now I'm thinking it's the band in peak form and there isn't a weak song on it...they're all potential singles in my books. I'm fucking stoked to be hearing some of them in a few weeks. I'm hoping Fly will be the next single...it's just too good not to be a single. I think Family Band is going to rip the roof off any joint where it's played.

This is a really cool album.

Family Band is the best song on this album IMO. Cant wait 2 hear in Cow Town.

I'm not a big fan of using the same lyrics in 2 different songs as they did in "the kids" and "Pretend".
I also think the worst part of the album is in "The Kids Don't Get It" when Gord belts "that was eaasssssssyyyyyy" at the beginning of the song. It just doesn't sound right.
However, other than that, the album is unreal from beginning to end.
World Container and Ocean are still my favourite songs

Nothing new, Emergency and Impossibilium.... but your finger starts to wiggle and landscapes emerge.

Listening to Pretend, and I keep thinking to myself, theres some Doors influence going on. Couldn't put my finger on the tune until now. Orange County Suite. It wasn't released on any of the Doors studio albums but they released the track a few years ago on a compilation disc that included early demos. Could be just coincidence, but when I first heard Pretend, I knew it reminded me of something immidiately.

I noticed that Last Night I Dreamed You Didn't Love Me isn't high on very many lists.

What a great tune with the driving bass and the Claptonesque guitar solo halfway through. Love it!

And I agree with those that said....World Container just hits you all of a sudden.

It's been a long time since an album (by any artist) has kicked my ass like this and every track is so strong.

The jacket art is awesome, I got the digi pack from Future Shop 'cause thats all they had. Its cool though. Nice to finally be able to read through all the official lyrics and clear up any mininterpretations. I'm about half way through my first listen of the real c.d. and it sounds great coming out of my stereo speakers.

HMV only had digipacks too. But at only $9.99 with coupon ($11.something after tax), who's to complain.

I almost bought Yer Favourites for $9.99 too (since I have Hipeponymous and it's a bit cumbersome to lug around), but I resisted the urge.
