Yeah those were some nice goals by Koivu & Souray. I liked Sheldon's post game comments to TSN, "i don't know what Carbo was thinking...".

Watching Sportscentre this morning, there were a lot of nice goals scored last night. Antoine Vermette in Ottawa, that rookie scoring the winner with 6 seconds left for Dallas....but my favorite was that rush by Erik Cole, wow! He went down to block a shot, then some how managed to get back up & get to the puck before the defensemen, then went on a ridiciouls rush, beating 2 Bruins to the inside, cut in front of net, showed great patience outwaiting Tim Thomas & buried it in the back of the cage.

Tough break for the Oilers last night, hopefully Smythe won't be out too long!
And the battle of New York finally begins tonight! I'm looking forward to that game, although i'll only be able to watch the first period then it's off to rec Sad

That was an ugly first period for Rags fans (and those of us with Lundqvist in hockey pools). Confusedhock:

Anybody know when the World Junior camp invitees will be announced? Should be soon I think.

Yeah that 1st period was brutal. Lundqvist wasn't on top of his game at all. I never seen the 2nd or 3rd, but i don't think Kevin Weekes faired much better. In the 1st at least the Rangers didn't actually play all that bad, but Ludqvist just wasn't on tonight.

Viktor Kozlov with 4 goals in this one! He's really seemed to pick up his game since the injury to Alexei Yashin. Brendan Shanahan had the trick in this game as well, goals 18, 19 and 20.

It's no secret who does all the scoring for the Rangers, Jaromir Jagr is on pace for 121 points, Michael Nylander 106, Martin Straka 97, and Brendan Shanahan 97.
Together, they've scored 58 of 85 Rangers goals this season (68%)...while all the remaining players combined have only scored 27 goals. Those 4 players have scored 26 of the teams last 30 goals. One hole i think the Rangers have to address at some point this season is the #2 center position.

I was reading Bob MacKenzie's column on Bobby Ryan and Team USA in the collumnists section of that TSN Extra thingy on Bell Express Vu...and i thought he said that Team USA is announced Tuesday, i could be wrong though. So i assume Team Canada is probably sometime this week as well.

Ovechkin is a great offensive talent..but it is too bad to see him pull this crap.

Can't wait to go to the game when the Caps come to Buffalo on 12/26.

It's on. :rambo:

Gotta love how the Caps announcers say that Ovechkin "slid" into Briere. Good for Gaustad for getting in there and throwing a few good shots in at Ovechkin's head.

If he doesn't get suspended, there is something seriously wrong. Good opportunity for the league to send a message though I imagine they will give AO a free pass on this one.

looks like he wont get suspended

thats bullshit. I hope a Buffalo player does the same thing to Ovechkin next time the Caps play Buffalo. I had alot of respect for Ovechkin and the way he played, but I lost it all for him after seeing that take place.

It looks like Ovechkin was simply going to finish his check, but didn't let up when Briere turned his back to him. Ovechkin knew right away that he was in trouble, given how he looks up 5 seconds later. I dunno - doesn't look intentional to me - but I can see how Sabres fans would be pissed.
