I'm not sure what to make of that deal.

Nothing for nothing. Tellqvist proved last year he's nothing more than a backup, and Nash is a pest-type player with no hands who will play 5 minutes a night if at all.

i woulda kept the goalie, at least the goalie has a chance of getting hot and contributing at some point, never hurts to have an experienced goaltender...he played well against Montreal last time i saw him play...

The Leafs were carrying 3 goaltenders though, and to send Tellqvist down to the minors he would of had to clear waivers & almost certainly would of been claimed by another team. So he's been with the big club all season & not getting any action because he has Raycroft & Aubin in front of him.

Not a bad deal either way i suppose. Tellqvist does have some potential so it's not a bad pickup by Phoenix i guess. As for the Leafs, they get a 4th round pick in return, and a 4th line pest in Nash, who was basically a throw in on the deal.

ya it's not a terrible deal, but Phoenix got the better end of the stick the way i see it...

The best part of that deal for the Leafs is the 4th round pick.
