I instituted a policy in my classroom that on Friday a student can bring in a cd for the class to listen to, as long as it doesn't contain explict lyrics etc.

Today, a student handed me a burned cd that simply said "mix". I put it in and went about me rounds making sure that each group was doing their work.

Then, an awful, whiney and artistically void set of noises filled the room. The student had selected to play a mix of Nickleback.

I have adopted a new policy -- the cd must not completely offend my personal tastes. :lol:

Ha, you just gave me a flashback! I remember in public school our teacher would let us bring in albums on Fridays to listen to (yes albums, the big round black thingys). anyways i remember bringing in AC/DC Back in Black.

The teacher took it in her hand, flipped it over....she pauses and says "hmmmm, Let Me Put My Love Into You, Shoot To Thrill, What Do You Do for Money Honey, Giving the Dog A Bone, You Shook Me All Night Long".................she then hands it back to me "I don't think I can play this album in class"......LOL

Of course being in public school the song titles or lyrics flew right over my head...........Whats wrong with "Giving The Dog A Bone"?? I had like two dogs at home that loved bones. And heck "What Do you Do For Money Honey?"...........I didn't know what she did for money, maybe she was a teacher??
