Silverchair's Neon Ballroom is amongst my most listened to albums at the minute. I totally over looked it in recent years but I am very happy to have rediscovered it.
direwolf74 Wrote:Funny, I just dusted off Reconstruction Site as well just the other day. Actually, since the release of their live album I've been diving into their entire back catalogue. Fallow still holds up as a brilliant debut, and Left & Leaving is easily one of the greatest albums ever made.
I very much agree with you. There are some amazing tracks on Left and Leaving. How did you enjoy the live album?
The live album is excellent, with great sound and solid performances. But I found the DVD portion to be pretty underwhelming. As a band they don't tend to move around much and John is very low-key and doesn't interact with the crowd at all, save for a few "thank you"s and the part when he brings that dude up on stage to play guitar. I've seen them live many times over the years, and I really enjoy it when I'm right there in the room, but their live show just doesn't translate well to DVD. Regardless of that, they're still a brilliant band and I can't wait to hear some new material from them.
