Classic!
Yeah I understand the vocals complaint but I kinda like it. Tennessee and That Much Further West are really good albums. The rest is alright.

The live version of Kiss the Bottle is amazing. I personally like Nobody's darlings the best but the 2 you mention are both in my rotation. Ben Nichols solo album is OK but it is based Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian which in itself is a great read.

On the alt-country them, Try The Drams or Two Car Garge.

The Dears - No Cities Left has been kicking my ass recently. Then of course I have to go listen to the 20 minute live version of "Pinned Together, Falling Apart" again and am blown away... Confusedhock:

Spiritual Machines - Our Lady Peace. One of their first, solid albums. Great stuff, sad that i missed their personal show in Halifax a week or two ago Sad

That sucks man, I need to start psyching myself up for their Spiritual Machines gig in a couple of months here. I'll have to revisit the album before I see the show though... it's been a few years

Reconstruction Site
to
Psalm for the Elks
to
Plea from a Cat
to
Our Retired Explorer

are just a winning combination. This has been my band of the year so far.

Funny, I just dusted off Reconstruction Site as well just the other day. Actually, since the release of their live album I've been diving into their entire back catalogue. Fallow still holds up as a brilliant debut, and Left & Leaving is easily one of the greatest albums ever made.

Just finished reading their biography "The Replacements- All Over But the Shouting: An Oral History", and it inspired me to dust off this old classic and crank it up nice and loud. Come to think of it, I'm currently obsessed with their entire discography, including Paul Westerberg's solo albums. What a great band.

I very much agree with you. There are some amazing tracks on Left and Leaving. How did you enjoy the live album?
