Wintersleep

I'm really diggin' this Postdata stuff! "In Chemicals" is just so fantastic - very catchy. But I preordered the album today and got the bonus track "Easter." Man - you've gotta hear this song. It's eerie beyond words!

Highly recommended!

I've just checked the post and the Postdata album was waiting for me! I find it slightly ironic that the CD reached me before the download did! I'm looking forward to checking it out. I'm reviewing/photographing their London show for Call Upon The Author as well - Very excited!

Very cool Ben! Any standout favourites that I should look forward to when I get mine on....Tuesday (I think that's when it's released??)

*EDIT: My digital download arrived last night in my inbox. The album is fantastic! Very impressed. What do the rest of you think?

I did the free download of Tobias Grey off their site a week or so ago and liked it a lot. I just ordered the new album, of course the day after the release, so I will miss out on that Bonus Track "Easter". Crap! :nooooo

I am doing the digital download now. Looking forward to listening to the whole thing tonight!!

The thought of a new Wintersleep disc is exciting. I would love to see them live but missed them when they hit Hamilton last year.

This should hold me over til then...

Mix complete.
We have finished mixing our fourth album. The order is yet to be determined, even some song titles are TBC. We gave of ourselves a dead-line of the end of next week to decide on which title we are going with. Two options remain and we will let you know ASAP what the header of this record will be.

Mastering will be sorted in February. Very confident that the record will still be out May 18th (17th in UK/EU).

We are thick into the artwork process as well. We are very fortunate to have an artist that we have admired over the past few years named Graeme Patterson on board to do the honors this time around. Very excited by the progress. We are making some great headway and we will show you a preview when we have something together!

Thanks again to Tony Doogan, such a pleasure working with such a force. We feel very lucky to be able to make a fourth album… and in such great company… wow, wow, yay! Thanks to all.

Save the date, we have something solid now. I hope Encyclopedia makes onto this record.

As for postdata, I always hate making the decision: cd or vinyl, vinyl or cd... I like when they pack both into one like Wilco did with Sky Blue Sky, and probably many other out there too, just not this occasion.

EDIT

On another listen to Warning off their website, i think this one would be a great choice on 145 gram vinyl.

The new Postdata album would sound AWESOME on vinyl.

I've been listening to thw Postdata album loads recently. I'm really enjoying it! 'Tobias Grey', 'Lazarus' and 'In Chemicals' are the real stand outs at the moment. I'm seeing them live on Wednesday and reviewing the show for Matt's site. It should be interesting.

I think it probably will be. If I get a chance to speak to Paul on Wednesday I'll try and get some more info.

All the new songs I've heard sound really great (especially 'Black Camera'). I can't wait! I really hope they come back to the UK for some shows.

They haven't even played a home town show recently at all. I guess with all the recording going on lately, but now the majority of it is completed, we can probably expect some date soon enough.

And Ben, let us know how long the show is. I think the Postdata album clocks in at about 1/2 hr or so. You should end up getting some cool covers and maybe even the bonus tracks too. Easter would be great to hear live I am sure!

I really hope so. I'm so ridiculously excited about them touring again!

Will do. I'm hoping there might be a couple of Wintersleep tracks thrown in like 'Faithful Guide' or something like that. I think they could quite easily play the entire album + 'Easter'. I'm still unsure of the line up though. I think they are opening for the Pedro the Lion guy, but it might be a joint headline thing.

Incidentally, I had a dream about the up coming show. I was quite bizarre. I was down the front shooting photos, and markslog was at the back filming it. For some odd reason though they came on and opened with 'Oblivion' and Paul was dancing round the stage in a really erratic way. It was very weird...

That's really funny! And I wouldn't put it past Slogs to show up at the show either. Maybe part of your dream will come true!

They're scheduled to play a free Olympics show on the 27th, in Surrey, that I'm tentatively planning to go to. I'm really looking forward to it.

Found the (Postdata) CD at HMV today.

This album has gotten better and better with each listen. In Chemicals is such a fantastic song; I love the repetition of 'chemicals' and the melody behind. I haven't really been taking attention to what song title goes with what song while I have been listening, but the whole album is great. First gem of '10.

Did anyone happen to get the bonus tracks 'Easter' (from their site I believe) and 'Blood Black' (from iTunes (album only)) that could send them to me? I don't really want to purchase the album again...
