Sabres will win 6 of 8 from the leafs this year. Write it down. By the way they just came back from down 2 goals and won again. 8 consecutive road wins to start the season. New NHL record! And yes when I speak of my hometown team I use "WE". Thats so crazy of me right? Cause no one does that.

Based on his play so far this season, HE'S NOT. I'm not writing him off by any means but right now he isn't getting the job done. Now, I realize the Canucks have a mediocore team BUT I expected Luongo to steal games for them. So far I haven't seen Luongo steal one game this season. Last night Jose Theodore outplayed him, which is pretty bad if you think about it. My expectations are for Luongo to play GREAT in most games but this season he's played average in as many games as he's played great. For the money he's getting and the reputation as being the best in the NHL, I'm sorry but he's not playing as well as he should. Last night, there was a breakdown in front of him on the winning goal but he totally took himself out of position on the play. Those are the game saving stops a goalie of his caliber are SUPPOSED TO MAKE. He's supposed to play better than GOOD. He's supposed to play GREAT the MAJORITY OF THE TIME. Let's wait and see if he does turn it around because so far this season he's been no better than Auld was last season for the Canucks.

I'm with you..i think for the money that Auld gets compared to Luongo, yeah...he's no better...but a healthy Luongo is still better than an injured Bert!!

I asked you to respond to the first 2 paragraphs I wrote. Did you not read? The jealousy comment was just an innocent jab. I knew you would respond to that part of my response however, because clearly you have nothing meaninful to say about the rest of what I said. Convince me that what your saying makes the least bit of sense. Make sure to read over your alleged stereotype.

You guys need to be patient. Generally it takes a new goaltender time to get used to his new D, and in Luongo's case - where he switched conferences - it will take him time to get used to seeing different teams way more often. I remember when Belfour first came to the Leafs and he looked really bad, but once he got used to the D and they got used to him, he came around.

Man, I'd think that with the history of Canuck goaltenders - which ranges from average to piss-poor - you'd be thrilled to have an upper-echelon 'tender for a change!

Yah, the Belfour experiment sure worked well....how many Cups did they win with him?
Okay, forget it...how many times did they reach the finals with him?....then again, it might just be the Leafs

I can't believe you're the only one to have made an sort of comment on this. But, lest we forget, we're stuck ona board full of dreaming leafs fans.

truth be told, Oilers fan or not, that was an absolute joke of a call. no matter what league, sport or teams involved.

Poor Habs are going to feel it tommorow night though. The Oil will come out angry as ever.

Who's # 1?

12-1-1, 24 points (24 out of 27 points)

The "over-rated" chanting by the Laffs fans just shows your the lack of reality.

TO: 40 years and counting, keep counting

I know we never won it, yet. But we made it there twice, in 18 and 27 team leagues.

AND, ONCE AND FOR ALL, 6 TEAMS IS A DIVISION, NOT A LEAGUE!

I dont like Leafs fans. I consider them delusional and really arrogant for no good reason. Thats my story. And yes, it applies to every leaf fan I have met. By the way in the last 20 years the Leafs have won in Buffalo a whopping 8 times. Now thats impressive!

-laughs- Look, I don't wanna fight. I like the Buffalo Sabres organization. I don't hate them. They are a good hockey club, obviously really good this year. If you hate the Leafs, that's fine with me. I just don't understand how you can account for the attitudes of every single person that cheers for the Leafs from one group of people on one night - or another group of drunk people the next night. All I asked was for a response on that. It's a very big stereotype.

I really don't understand why you keep bringing up stats bragging that the Sabres are better than the Leafs. Never once did I say anything about Stanley Cup victories or Playoff wins. I didn't ask for any of that but for some reason you keep bringing it up. I guess it's my lack of reality.

I love good spirited discussion about hockey and fandom in general. I actually really liked the Leafs back when they had Alex Mogilny and Gary Roberts. That was a fun team to watch. I own a leafs jersey and a few hats. ( I catch alot of crap from my friends about that) Something about being at that game Saturday really got to me. It wasnt the team on the ice because I know Buffalo is much better than that. Hell they are 12-1-1. Not too shabby. Maybe it was the drunken leaf fan next to me who had teeth the size of 2x4's and a HUGE Jay Leno like chin who wouldnt shut up about "Leafs Nation" and how great the Leafs are. I tried to remind thats it probably the only time the leafs will win in buffalo this year but I dont think he heard me because I think he was wearing a Canadian flag as a headpiece at the time and it was covering his ears.

Well, if your criteria for a successful free agent signing or trade is that the team has to win the Cup, or make the finals, then I guess you can criticize 99% of the moves made every year.

Here's what Belfour did as a Leaf:

- 02/03 season: runner-up for the Vezina Trophy and franchise record 37 wins
- 03/04 season: 34-19-6 record, 2.13 GAA, .918 save %, three shutouts in the opening round against the Senators, setting a record for shutout streaks in a series.

Yeah - horrible move!
