Friggin Sabres. That Afinogenov has some crazy skills. Along with Hemsky, Crosby and Ovechkin makes for some highlight reel stuff this year.

That display by Luongo against the Sharks was disgusting.

Anyway, as you guys could probably imagine, I'm not a fan of ANY commentator. I hate all of them. In every sport, broadcasters have, over the years, morphed into shameless promoters.

Cassie Campbell is horrible. I know that's not politically correct but it's true. Also, she just said that Phaneuf, unlike a guy like Kasparaitis, NEVER puts himself out of position when he goes for a hit. NEVER. Hmmm, putting down a Russin and promoting a Canadian eh? Gee, I could have sworn that was one of Phaneuf's only weaknesses in his rookie season but we can't expect Cassie to know that I guess. Don Cherry must be coaching her. It's funny with Don how stats are relevant ONLY when it pertains to CANADIAN hockey players.

Too bad Captain Clutch decided to take matters into his own hands.

It's not often you see Kipper whiff on shots from that far out - but that was a classic Sundin blast!

I just caught a replay of the goal but are you sure it didn't deflect off the d-man's stick?

Have they already started doing that? I haven't turned on him completely but that game shouldn't happen to an elite goalie, the same way it shouldn't have happened to Brodeur a few nights back.

500th career goal...shorthanded...in overtime...to complete a hat trick...

Talk about doing it right!

Gotta give props to Sundin, that was a wicked shot. That game started out a complete bore, Calgary didnt show up till the second and then it just got wild.

Montreal made a nice comeback, but Huet shit the bed in the shootout, shitballs!

:x

Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

I think it did. At least that's what it looks like on the replay. Regardless, that was a HUGE game for Sundin. It's always cool to see a player reach 500 goals, even if it was against my beloved Flames. Talk about our defence taking the night off. I can't remember the last time the Flames allowed that many shots. And yeah, Kipper didn't have a great night. But hey, it's a point on the road. We'll take it.

Sundin is a friggen Stud (in the hockey sense, not the homoerotic one)...that guy carries this team on his shoulders night after night and to see him pour in 3, short-handed, in OT, no less, is a thing of beauty.

The only thing I'm pissed about is that I forgot to take him off of the bench in my Hipbase Hockey Pool and I missed out on his 9 points.

I'm not sure how Paul Maurice has done it but these Leafs have obviously got it finally ingrained in their heads to shoot the puck more and it's definitely paying off. Without going to the NHL Stats section I'm willing to guess they are firing off 35-40 shots on average per game...that's huge!!

Thank you Buffalo. Few things warm my heart more than the Flyers - and Robert Esche in particular - getting their asses handed to them.

Chalk another victory up for the Habs!! Not their best game (espeicially for Huet), but they're definitely playing some solid hockey.
