When did the Islanders officially become a CFL franchise?

Did I see correctly that the Islanders named Garth Snow as the new gm? What the hell is that all about. Fire Neil Smith for a career back up goalie.

milbury is still there, so this comes as no surprise

It gets better...according to TSN.....

In the wake of Smith's stunning firing on Tuesday, LaFontaine handed his resignation to Wang following the news conference.

Poor bastards. They all think that they are getting hired to do a job and then they discover one month later that Milbury still has final say.

Trottier would likely quit too - if he wasn't desperate for a paycheque.

This is a pretty funny comment:

Any truth to the rumor that the Islanders will try to make Snow feel more at home in his new digs by installing a red light on the wall behind the GM's desk that flashes every five minutes?

milbury must have caught his owner screwing a sheep....how that guy has been in the league so long, while a guy like ted nolan is on the outside looking in for so long, blows my mind

I like Sanderson & think he'll be a good fit in Philly.
I'm a little disappointed that the Rangers dealt away Dominic Moore today Sad

at least the leafs got some defence and raycroft and peca is all a step in the right direction. glad to see lindros gone as well. too bad domi's gone tho, the core of the team for sure.

are you crazy? Domi was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpaid...he hardly even fought anybody last year...and he isn't a very skilled player...core of the team? no wonder they've sucked so much last year...Domi was the core of their team lol!

they really should get Roberts back, or sign Anson Carter...or even bring back Leetch...because they still don't have a very good team, and they might actually be a weaker squad this year than they were last...we'll have to wait and see of course, but i wouldn't be all that surprised.

reason #66 why its hard being a pens fan....our big move this off season was acquiring the aforementioned dominic moore. also, there is some doubt now wether malkin is going to playing in pittsburgh next year- i guess they hit yet another snag with that transfer deal with the russians-damn you greedy russians :rambo:

Why bring Roberts back? For all of his supposed "leadership" I don't remember the Panthers making the playoffs. The guy decided that for a few extra bucks (in NHL player terms) that he'd rather close out his career by playing for non-contender in a non-hockey market than play for the Leafs, then a year later he whines that he wants to come back for "family" reasons. Too bad slugger. If you wanted to play in Toronto, then you should have signed the deal they offered.

I'm with ya though - I wish they'd signed Carter to play with Sundin rather than sign that overrated bum Michael Peca. I know Peca had a good stretch in the playoffs, but he was a total write-off in the regular season and you need to make the playoffs to be good in the playoffs.

As for Domi, he couldn't have left soon enough. I still can't believe ownership made JFJ sign him to that deal. I also love that Domi claimed last year he had "a dozen" other offers. Where are those offers now? He must have been counting beer league teams.

Is it October yet? I'm ready for the '06/07 season now!

I don't know why, but i have a feeling Carter could end up back in Edmonton....

I would enjoy that. I think he would easily fill the void left by Peca seeing as how he has racked up more points than him last year.

the oilers could use his 20-25 goals. He had his most productive season in Edmonton, and I could definitley see him repeating those numbers again.
