I'd give you the setlist but to be honest I really only know the older songs. Hopefully someone else can help you with that soon so you can get to sleep. :-)

Nope...all these shows, whether it be parts or in their entirety, are to stay "on the shelf" until the fall. Sorry kids.

Ok then. Thanks for the letting me know.

good work on the titanic foreshadowing... i couldn't believe they played it... i'm pretty sure i was yelling holy shit for the first 30 seconds of the song...

Yeah, once Robbie busted out the 12 string acoustic, I knew something was about to blow us away... I think I looked back at you 12 bars in or so and you had the same look of awe that I did.... I hadn't seen Titanic since 12/21/00.... beauty.

I've seen approximately 70 Hip shows since my first in 1989. Last night I was expecting a little more to be honest. First of all, it was a "Fan Club Show" which made me think that it would be automatic to hear at least two encores. For the price of the tickets I believe we deserved that. It was great to hear some "b" side tracks, however, I don't think "Gus" is a classic, or has any place in an encore. My other issue with last night was the last song...Long Time...how often do you hear it in the setlist..not very...it seemed to me that Gord forgot the words and sort of let the crowd take over. As a HIP fan...I want to hear Gord sing it. I don't want to comment too much on their new stuff because I think you need to hear it a few times first, but, my first impression is not good. I hope that the HIP will return to their roots and make another record with Don Smith..or possibly Daniel Lanois. I heard that polished Bob Rock sound...and I can't stand any recordings that Bob Rock has been associated with...just my opinion.
I would like to hear "fight" again someday, maybe even "she didn't know". If there is a positive it seems like the band understands that "Courage"and other radio favourites don't need to be in the setlist every night.

To each his own I guess.
But to think you "deserve" something because it was a Fan Club Show is just lunacy.

For the cost of tickets alone...we should have recieved another encore. C'mon 19 songs....that doesn't cut it. There were great moments in the show...don't get me wrong...but, I think it's a safe bet that others wanted another encore...and maybe have grown to expect two encores (the Hip have always played in the area of 22-24 songs)

I agree it would have just been fantastic if they had come out for another encore. But I don't think that relates to the cost of the ticket in any way. I don't think the prices were out of line with any show you would go to see these days. Plus it's the Hip!!! If I am going to spend my money on anything, I have no [little] bones about spending it on them!

I somewhat agree with Bakersbrew about the second encore. The hip have done 2 encores so many times and with the rising ticket prices (hip used to charge around $30 to $40), it'd be nice to hear a couple extra songs.

On another note, beggers can't be choosers. We were among 650 people who were lucky enough to even get into the show.

I actually heard a lot of people moaning about the length of the show on the way out. To put it in perspective, I saw Dickey Betts (imho THE main man behind the Allman Brothers greatest work) at the Empire at the beginning of June and it only cost $37 a for 2.5 solid hrs. I was kind of happy the show was over when it was 'cause my wife kept moaning about being tired and wanting to go home to sleep ......

Come on guys....seeing the hip in a theatre atmosphere with the great acoustis and lighting like last night - amazing!

Gord did seem to get lost in the 2nd verse of long time running and just let the crowd go with it. There were a bunch of tunes that I'd like to have heard and didn't however the whole experience last night left me with no complaints at all. 64 and change - id pay it again in a minute to have the same seats I had last night.

Aside from the drunken jackass behind us, I wouldn't change anything about the evening. I had a great time watching my favourite band with my best friend, and a bunch of new friends. It was a killer venue, with great sound and the staff were fantastic.

I hope my merit as a "Hipfan" is never judged by my ability to recite song lyrics on the spot. It's evidently a crime against rock fandom.

I've been a lover of TTH's music for 15 years, have been to over 30 shows, and have spun Road Apples seemingly a thousand times, but I might miss a few words trying to sing along with "Long Time Running", or start a verse out of sequence or something. I'm just not one who focuses as much on a song's lyrics as i do the melodies and instrumental composition.

And if I ever manage to memorize Hip lyrics, I'm known to forget them in time (you know - sorta like that Gordon Downie dude.)

I guess the lyric thing bothered me because it's not that they forgot words, it's that they were singing their own words that didn't exactly flow with the song...

Nice chatting with you last night Fleeter. I was the guy who sat right behind. Welcome to hipbase. Glad you found this place.
