if i cheer for sport in general, it would technically be impossible to bandwagon...
I'm just glad that you finally fessed up to being a miserable old man that has nothing better to do than to pretend to like teams that i hate, just so you can come on here and try to piss me off...i think you should see a therapist...i think you might have some unresolved issues from childhood...that or you were repeatedly dropped as an infant...it's a coin toss.

Ouch.
Anyway, what's with the Cardinals' offence disappearing in the LCS? So far they've scored four tonight but they went completely flat in Game 1.

Ok so I was totally off, congrats to the Tigers!
All those long-suffering fans must be going bananas.

That homerun was the definition of clutch. And how about Suppan going yard in the Cardies' game? Man, this is great!

Looks like I'm going to have to eat some humble pie; I never thought that Detroit would sweep the A's! Magglio's walk off was simply clutch. I'm still hoping for the Mets to wake up and beat the tar out of St. Louis. IMO, the Cardinals weren't their usual dominating self and won the NL Central simply because the rest of the division was weak, with the exception of the Astros and Reds.

Good luck getting tickets! I've never had the good fortune of attending a division or league playoff game, let alone the Fall Classic!
Your starting pitching (namely Weaver and Suppan) are bringin' it at the best possible time, and the pressure is probably more on Tigers than your Cards. This is as good a scenario as any for winning a World Championship in the STL.....
This has the makings of a great Series. I love to see two historical franchises steeped in tradition representing each league, especially two that hail from media markets that are less-glamorous than Chicago, New York, San Francisco, L.A., etc.
The Cardinals franchise (originally the St. Louis Browns) joined the National League in 1891 after playing for about a decade in the American Associacion (whichfolded in 1891), and have now won 17 NL Pennants. They are vying for their 10th World Championship.
The Detroit Tigers were a charter member of the American League, officially formed in 1901. They have now won 10 AL Pennants and are hoping to win their 5th World Series.
