I know the feeling. I pre-ordered it as well and I have dates of June 23rd and 30th. Brutal for pre-ordering. Hoping Spotify has it up tomorrow.

If you pre-ordered via the Giftshop, there's a download link in your receipt. Can download World Possessed and Tired now.

Edit: I am really digging the last track a lot.

If you don't come to absolutely love this, I would be surprised. First listen for me I was confused. It was a challenge and I LOVE the dark Hip records. So, just keep listening. It's opens up with repeated listening. It's magnificent!

I've had the album on repeat all morning, and I'm loving it more with each spin. I agree, it's a big departure from previous albums. At the same time though, it still sounds very much like the Hip to me. Those guitars are unmistakable, as is Gord's voice obviously. Man is an excellent track, and a bold choice to open the album. It kinda threw me off at first, and I can definitely hear the Radiohead comparison. After a few spins I started to pick up on a few subtle call-backs to earlier albums. Hot Mic and Great Soul honestly wouldn't sound out of place on DFN or TATH. Here In the Dark and What Blue have kind of a breezy Phantom Power-esque vibe to them. Machine is one hell of an album closer. I love that little instrumental break and then the slow build-up to Robby's heavenly guitar solo. Such a brilliant song. I still need a few more days to absorb the album before I rank it alongside the rest of the catalogue, but when the dust settles, I think it might be one of the best things they've ever released. It's so incredibly sad to think this might be their last album, as it definitely signals a new era for the band as songwriters and artists. Kind of a reinvention if you will. These guys should be making records until they're old and grey, goddammit!

Too bad I didn't order it from there. Amazon.ca is where is its from.

If I find it the vinyl in a music store tomorrow, I'll just cancel the amazon order. I don't want to wait that long.

Good luck! I decided to order the vinyl via the Giftshop but will likely pick up a CD tomorrow to listen in the car. And then rip it to my music server an listen everywhere for at least a month!

Yeah this is exactly how I feel about it - SO different but ... just wow...Man itself floors me - it is absolutely incredible and I'd say will go down as one of my all time favourite Hip songs

I think the BSS influence on the sound is the gated drum sound on most of it which is very BSS - Seeing as You Forgot It In People is one of my favourite albums of all time I can see why I love the sound of this album so much. But it does sound like the band said "Fuck It" let's do something completely different on this album.

OMG....In Sarnia.....is....Exquisite :music

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!
