Just saw on the Ovation site that audio and video recording devices aren't allowed. Hopefully someone will find a way to get this show recorded.

I've sent an email to Standing Ovation, much like the one I sent to The Hip last year which elicited this response:

Hi Chris;

Thanks for your message.

We have thought about that, but figured we best leave it as an "underground" endeavour amongst fans. Pretty much everyone who is interested in recording already knows that we not only allow audio and video taping, but encourage it!

Where we do take an active role, is informing promoters and venues of our policies, and to allow - without prejudice - any and all gear that fans want to bring into the venue(s) with them. This is where commonly we run into problems, in that some venues are hesitant to allow this, without claiming some kind of remuneration. It gets a bit more complicated when we play festivals, etc.. with other bands on the bill, as they have their own policies and record company issues. Under normal circumstances, fans usually have no problems.

We have - as you may already know - released a few shows that we multi-tracked and remastered (<!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.livedownloads.com/tthip">www.livedownloads.com/tthip</a><!-- w --> <http://www.livedownloads.com/tthip> ) from this past fall Canadian tour. I hope you take the chance to have a listen. They turned out rather nicely!

Glad to see your making it to the show Hugh, looks like we got a great group going to this one. If anyone wants to say hello, I will be wearing my Hipbase shirt, and a Boston Red Sox hat (dont say it). Also a very cute blonde on my arm as well.. :wink:

Hope to see you all, cant wait for this show, after Fort York I got the concert itch bad baby!! Of course I dont know how they could top that 38 Years Old surprise..still cant believe that happened.

It's nice to know that my Hipbase friends are looking forward to seeing me again! I am looking forward to seeing all of you also. It was a blast hanging out with everyone at the bar before the second Fort York show. I'm sure it will be good times again.

Just checked the Weather Network, for Saturday in Stratford its forcasting..

Cloudy with showers,

23C High, 13C for the low, 40% chance of rain.

Forty percent isn't much to get worried about, these things change daily anyway, Ill keep checking just in case.

Anyone camping at the Stratford Fairgrounds Trailer Park?

i will forewarn you that "trailer park " is a bit of a misnomer...its more like 10-15 small sites tucked in beside the farmers market on the fairgrounds/colisseum property right in the midst of a residential neighbourhood. I don't know if they have access to showers - better to check the website or link on the ovation site...www.standingovation.ca



having said that , it does provide excellent access to the downtown ( 6 blocks away), park system, some bars and restaurants...unlike wildwood which really is a conservation area /campground and is 10 kms from stratford
