I sure hope it doesn't happen, but like I said it all comes down to $$$.
It already pisses me off how they dictate what days and times the games of certain series are played. :x

cferneyh Wrote:tiger - out of curiousity, why do you call Heatley a "traitor"?

You gotta figure Sens fans hope that the Sens are just emulating the Detroit Red Wings. They had seasons of 98, 103, 100, 70 (lockout season), and 131 points from '92 to '96 before they finally won the Cup in '97. Hell, I remember in those days people were questioning if Yzerman had what it took to win, and there were plenty of rumours that he was going to be dealt to Ottawa in those days. The funny thing is that the coach of two of those disappointing teams was Bryan Murray.

As for Thornton, yeah, you're right. I was always willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in Boston because - well, it was the Bruins. But with the Sharks he's got a decent #2 centre behind him in Marleau, yet he's still not getting the job done.

I just don't like the way he left Atlanta. The team supported him through all his troubles and then he turns around and asks for a trade. After all, he was the guy who was driving the car and smashed it, resulting in the death of a teammate. I know it was an accident but he brought the troubles onto himself and then to turn around and leave the organization that bent over backwards to make sure he was well taken care of as much as possible and to help keep him out of jail any way they could.........I don't wish anyone to go through what Heatley has gone through and he has to live with what happened every day of his life but I still believe he should have shown loyalty to the Thrasher's organization. Even Bertuzzi the idiot was loyal to the Canucks and didn't demand to be traded.

So whats everyones thoughts on game 6 tonite,ya think Edmonton can pull it off tonite or will the Sharks have a huge game and push it back to SJ? I think Edmo's gonna wrap er up tonite with a big game by "Postseason" Pisani, thats what me and a friend have nicknamed him....

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

Then the fans get upset, they buy season tickets and the OWNER says ok for 2-3 years until it starts again. Then they move, or not. So it was ok for Hartford to move. For Cleveland, Kansas City, Oakland, Colorado to fold. What has being an American have to do with it.

Yep. And something that is rarely brought up is that the Canadian owners who cried hardship and sold the Nords and the Jets made a pretty sweet return on their investments. For example, Marcel Aubut bought the Nords for $16 million in 1988, and sold the franchise seven years later for $75 million.

People who blame Bettman for the Nords and Jets leaving kill me. The owners decide who they want to sell to, and they sell to whoever offers them top dollar. Bettman is merely a rubber stamp in the process.

whoah...

Heatley drives like a maniac and kills his friend in the process, Bertuzzi punches a guy in the heat of the moment playing a game, and Bertuzzi's the idiot Confusedcratch: ? i think you better rethink that one tiger.

Well there goes my chance of winning $450! I actually started to believe i had a decent chance of winning with both of my teams among the 6 left (New Jersey the other)...but oh well, very glad to see Edmonton doing well again. They'll have their hands full with a very tough Anaheim team, both teams are playing terrific.
How crazy is it that all 4 of the teams in the semis missed the playoffs last season!

Some Sabres Games Will Not Be On TV
Thursday, May 18, 2006 01:27 AM - Tom Connolly

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - Don't have the OLN cable channel at home?
You may want to start looking for a place to catch next Monday's Sabres game -- maybe at a friend's house, or a nightclub.
The TV options for the Eastern Conference Finals between Buffalo and Carolina just got more limited.
Game One Saturday afternoon will be on NBC ... and the CBC will cover Games Three and Four and, if necessary, Game Five.
That means no broadcast ("over the air") networks will carry Games Two, Six or Seven -- and leaves only cable channel OLN as the only outlet.
There is only one dependable place to catch every game: on the radio. Full coverage of all games will be on WGR SportsRadio 550.
MSG -- the Madison Square Garden Network -- does not have the rights to carry this series.
The Outdoor Life Network is available on Adelphia's upper tier of sattelite channels, and many Western New Yorkers don't receive them.
Ever since the Outdoor Life Network won the rights to broadcast NHL games this season, some Sabres fans worried they might not be able to watch some games. OLN did black out certain regular season games.
The decision by CBC to show a maximum of three games from the Sabres series can be traced to the success of the Edmonton Oilers -- now that a Canadian team has reached the Western Conference Finals, there's less Canadian interest in the Eastern series.
The CBC's TV schedule -- which can be checked by following the story link below -- was released shortly after Edmonton completed their series victory over San Jose

What the hell is wrong w/the CBC? Its the fkn playoffs. Why are they only showing a certain nuber of games? Confusedcratch: I live in Rochester so I get OLN but work in Buffalo and everyone I work with is pissed. CBC is fed into Buffalo, but the CBC decideds only a handful of games. Hate to see if Edmonton doesn't make the cup finals. Will CBC decide to bother putting any games on?

Yeah Oilers!!!!! Keep it up!! Get that Cup!

And I will not cheer for a team from NORTHERN Alberta. I'll admit they've got a pretty solid team up there, and they're obviously gelling at just the right time, blah, blah, blah. But as a Flames fan, it's in my blood to hate them, and there's no way in hell I'm ever gonna cheer for that team.

Ducks in 6.
