I got tickets for Friday's Massey show. Anyone been to the Fillmore in Detroit? Was wondering what Mezz seats were like.

What happened to the presale? I couldn't get on the site this morning, then when I could, there weren't any passwords. I tried guessing 'hip', 'same', 'luxury' - nothing worked for me. By 10:30 the presale was over and the only tickets available were up in the nosebleeds!
Now that things have calmed down a bit, I checked again but the 'best available' tickets are waaaaaaaaaay in the back. I never thought I'd hear the boyfriend say it, but he said 'We're not paying $200 just to sit at the back of the class'. Wow. That's a first. But that means we're not going.

Well I don't know what show you were trying for but I was checking the Massey Hall ticket inventories around noon (2 hours after the presale) and there were still great floor seats to be had.
Plus, we all figured out the password here pretty quickly on the base, you should have checked here for the latest updates. Why didn't you?

I got tickets for the Wednesday Edmonton show at the Jube. I got first balcony, centre, 2nd row. It's not the floor, and I wasn't going for it! I'm too short, so unless I'm in the first row on the floor, it's useless! These tickets will do me just fine (aside the fact I'm down $210 right now! It'll be worth it). :thumb:

I was hoping to get the Friday and Saturday at Massey Hall wrapped up by 10:30 but that didn't happen. Not to make fun light of anyone' situation, but I am surprised at all the negative angst out there. Yeah the Hip's site crashed. I turned and went right to Ticketmaster (after getting the password here) and scored my tickets there easily enough. And I didn't even need the password to buy them - it was a free for all. Sitting at home now there are still really good floor seats left for all three of the Ottawa shows - I just pulled DD for the Saturday night show but released them.
We all got our tickets - we're all going to see a show and it will be a great show. The 'Base isn't a small little community anymore and the Hip are the biggest band in the country. It's not unrealistic to think they are going to draw lots of attention.

I put my brother up to getting them since I couldn't get to a computer at that time. I gave him my hip.com user ID and password so he could get on right at 10 and grab tix for either Tues or Sat at ArtPark. He sent me a text saying the site was down. He had a limited time to try and wait for something to turn around and wasn't able to get any.
Eventually we were able to get Tues Grand Tier Left Row Q. I imagine the sight lines are good just about anywhere at ArtPark from what I can remember.
I was thinking being on right at 10 would score better seats but this kind of thing always seems to happen. Oh well, at least we are going to a show. I could have waited until the public onsale but wanted to make sure I wasn't stuck with eBay getting priced out.
70 bucks total is a lot but I am justifying it with the fact that it is "An Evening With..." and will be getting more than the average 20 song set.
Would have loved to have go to a couple shows but its just not happening this tour.
Maybe some more GA shows at $25-35 will come out in the likes of Rochester, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, DC, etc...getting to one of those up close would be fantastic!

Going to Detroit and Montreal. Got the Detroit tickets okay through Ticketmaster (and getting the password through Hipbase). Montreal was a different story. The two links were set-up for the Friday night show only. So, when I clicked on what I thought was the Saturday show I ended up with Friday tickets (I should of double checked but didn't). It was only when I read a thread here (Hipbase) that I realized the link may have been wrong.
Miraculously, I called TicketPro and they exchanged the tickets for the show I wanted with no hassle or extra costs - wonder if Ticketmaster would have done that?
Anyway, got my tickets. The downside is my wife is pissed at all the money I've spent on tickets and what I'm going to spend on these road trips.
Can't wait!!

Victoria BC June 20 (Save on Memorial Sec 101 Row C) and Portland OR June 16 (Wonder Ballroom General Admission).
The Hip site was hazy (no HTML) but I managed to get the password.
Damn, this is going to be so awesome! Seeing the Hip in Portland (in an intimate setting) while on vacation and seeing them again in my backyard when I get home!

Not that this really matters anymore but I think it might be because pigography was looking for two seats together. I remember searching for two seats together like a couple hours after the presale started and they were all sold out. Sure there were alright singles left, but all the doubles went quickly.
