I wonder what hockey player he's talkin about, NHL'er or someone else...

I think its there has been a reference on this thread already but here is a little more detail ...
"There are an estimated 10,000 MAINLY IRISH & SCOTTISH IMMIGRANTS BURIED IN SKELETON PARK
On the 18th of September 1992, a 158-year-old headstone was dug up in a Kingston playground, (McBurney Park); a human femur lay nearby in the grass. Skeleton Park is the popular name given to this area because of the frequent unearthing of human remains. The park was in use as a city cemetery for Catholics and Protestants from c1813 until 1865."

Skeleton Park
Wouldn't find somewhere even angry(?)
the sun teased the dark
like the last strawberry
i could hear up on the breeze
i could hear her movin through the trees
the ghosts of the Rideau Canal start to sing
and patting the grass you said come sit next to me be my sweetheart
Over in skeleton park
Over in skeleton park
skeleton park
I couldn't see anything
the raven took the moon and tucked it under her wing
I could hear another rain(?)
Hear her dripping from the leaves(?)
Widows of the Rideau Canal softly sing
And underneath the trees
you say please watch over me
you are my heart
Over in skeleton park
Over in skeleton park
In skeleton park
my dreams went a scatterin'
multiplying light (?)
were all there was to see
and then in the dawn i wept
for all the ghosts and meant for broken hearts
Over in skeleton park
Over in skeleton park
Will you be in skeleton park
Over in skeleton park
------------------------------------------
well it's a start, lot of mistakes in there, but the skeleton is there.

I would've included these songs, and the tracklisting would've been as follows:
1. Morning Moon
2. Honey, Please
3. The Last Recluse
4. Skeleton Park
5. Coffee Girl
6. Now The Struggle Has A Name
7. The Depression Suite
8. The Exact Feeling
9. Hush
10. Queen Of The Furrows
11. Speed River
12. Frozen In My Tracks
13. Love Is A First (or a curse? lucky #13 hehe)
14. Country Day
honestly, the album sounds SO much better in this order IMO, try it out, lemme know what you think.

Valente Wrote:Just heard 'Hush' for the first time...first thing I thought of was Joel Plaskett's new track 'Drifter's Raus' off his 1st (of 3) CD's.
Anyone else? Kinda similar...
Nope, just thought 'Hush' was a joke. I downloaded the album from iTunes and thought 'oooooh bonus track!!!!'.... until I heard it.
Don't get me wrong, Gordie's 'quirkiness' is one of the most endearing things about this band but this song is TERRIBLE.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the rest of the album though. Definitely a 'grower' and I can honestly say that after 24 hours, I'm addicted!!!!!

to add to what i said in my last post, it even sounds like Skeleton park is supposed to come after Recluse...listen to the end of Recluse, and then the beginning of Skeleton Park, they fit perfectly together.

As I expected the bonus tracks are the usual rubbish you get on iTunes/CDs. I prefer not having bonus tracks with an album so I can hear the album as it was meant to be with out additional fluff.

I concur. Hush is pretty crap, and skeleton park is...okay, as non-album tracks go. That said, I (still) haven't heard the album yet, so my opinion may change based on that. (But I doubt it.)

I can't believe all the hate for Hush, i think it's not only a great song, but easily better than half of the songs that made the album.

Good call to keep both off the album.
I LOOOVE Hush; it makes me smile like a goof. But it's a trifle, and would not have fit on the album.
Skeleton Park is meh - it reminds me of some early B-sides like Bumblebee or Dante where you can sense a song buried in there somewhere. The only thing to recommend it for me is that it's probably on a similar level to The Exact Feeling (though feeling's lyrics are better).
I'd say keep these both off, cut Exact Feeling, and shorten Struggle by two minutes.
