Another album that's been kicking my ass lately is Okonokos by My Morning Jacket. These guys are fucking incredible. What I wouldn't give to catch a live show of thiers.

I keep hearing great things about those guys, but I have yet to check them out. Which album would you recommend for a newbie? I hear their latest album "Z" is excellent.

i saw them open for Pearl Jam - while im a bit of a noob to them as well; the stuff from Z that they played seemed alot better. And Mark, i loved my morning jacked - the ACC couldnt really deal with the high treble stuff, but looking past that, the songs were good.

heres my list for 06 (plus an older one)

1) Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam
2) Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped
3) Chilis - Stadium Arcadium
4) David Gilmour - On an Island
5) The Raconteurs - Broken boy Soldiers

and older - 6) Day For Night - i decided to pull it out recently after going on a road apples binge. WOW, i forgot how awesome the supposed "filler" is.
