Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the movie explain the time travel as a cause of the Romulan star singularity created by the M matter(really stupid name, butthey gotta call it something?) and the Romulan baddie getting sucked into the singularity first? The one thing I really didn't buy in the movie was the Romulan mining ship having more offensive firepower than the Enterprise; the drill I would accept, but a Romulan mining ship being able to obliviate 5 starships in one sitting?
