Christians murder their spouses all the time. Why do we connect this murder with religion?

Granted, that's the spin the newspaper tries to put on it, but really, isn't this just another murder?

I suppose you have a point, there. I don't hear of too many Christians beheading their spouses, though.

Well, I think it depends on yer cultural traditions. Hiring a biker to whack her is the traditional option for modern Christians.
