Heartwrenching for any Sox fan, no doubt.
But Calvin Schiraldi (pitched that fateful 10th inning) got the biggest free-pass for any relief pitcher to ever bring a gas can to the mound in a WS game.
Gave up 3 consecutive 2-out hits and then a WILD PITCH (why doesn't anyone remember that?) to put Knight into scoring position. If that meltdown doesn't occur, Buckner's error could have been completely meaningless.....
