Glad to see the other card carrying Republican on this board is freaked out over Mr. Preacher Boy. Seriously, what the bleep happened to Fred Thompson's campaign? It looks like I'm going to have to hold my nose and vote for McCain, because anybody (and I mean anybody) who is the Democratic nomination can beat the Carter wanna-be from Arkansas like a red-headed stepchild.

I'm an Independent who also finds Huckabee's rise in popularity scary. It's too bad Fred Thompson's campaign never picked up speed. He seems to be the most normal and reasonable out of all the possible Republican candidates. There is way too much emphasis on religion in that race...it's fine if someone is religous, but I certainly wouldn't vote or not vote for someone purely because of that.
