Since we have no way of knowing his actual intentions, that question will forever remain unanswered.

Well, people are never going to stop guessing and perceiving those intentions. If those people who think Lindros is a media whore (and has not-so-good intentions) have some sort of precedent for thinking this, then they have all the information that is needed to answer this question for themselves.
