Although i'm glad it counted, I can't help but wonder how the Daniel Alfredsson goal counted, yet the Karel Rachunek goal was disallowed in round 2 against Buffalo.

Campbell believed that while Alfredsson did direct the puck toward the goal with his foot, he didn't use a "distinct kicking motion" on the play.

On that very similar play during Game 3 of the second-round series between the Rangers and Sabres, Campbell and Co. overruled an on-ice "goal" call on a play involving Rachunek.

An official in the Toronto war room explained that decision to the New York Daily News, saying Rachunek directed the puck into the net with his skate and a "distinct kicking motion" wasn't the sole standard in ruling on such plays.

So, the "distinct kicking motion" rule only applies for certain players I guess. :roll:

Also, what is suspicious is why so many Senator's fans are quiet about Neil and his dirty plays last night. One play he took about 10 strides (charging), got his hands up, (roughing) and went after Macdonald's head. I don't understand that just because Macdonald wasn't laying on the ice after, there was no punishment for Neil. Oh well, it is what it is. Neil is quoted as saying that Pronger is "known for that" and should be suspended. That's more than a little funny coming from a guy who has already backed down from several physical challenges this series, deliberately tried to injure Chris Drury earlier in the season and last night deliberately tried to injure one of Anaheim's top scorers.
