Why do people continue to think this is a great way and place to show national pride. You don't hear people singing God Save the Queen at a Stones concert or God Bless America at a Pearl Jam concert.
I'm not even American and I get annoyed when I read stories like these...this coming from a guy with a red Maple Leaf tatooed on him.
i could not agree more. I find stories like this so cringe worthy.
though, everybody gets something different out of this band, i suppose. for some people, they are huge music fans and that's why they love the band. For others, they are moderate music fans, but proud patriots for their home-grown talent.... The Hip attract an interesting crowd that way. Both are absolutely fine, but the anthem singing still make me a cringe a bit (sorry folks).
