I never saw the magic that Gord saw in 'Springtime.' A solid song, not a great one; neither the lyric nor the melody are especislly great.

I think it's the bass line that resonnates...figuratively and literally. I've heard Gord D say that they loved playing it because of the response it got from the audience.

That's interesting... I've never detected any kind of up tick in audience response with Springtime. I wouldn't call it a "fan favourite" per se. If part of Gord's reasoning for it being his favourite song is crowd response (and to be fair he's never publicly linked the two) than I'd find that odd.

Springtime is such a powerful song live. Just pure power sometimes.
I remember vividly the 4th night of the Artpark run several years ago (6-6-9)when it really felt as if the roof was going to blow off of the venue. The crowd was just going nuts.
When this song is clickin' it is unstoppable.
It's that slow-burn build that just explodes before you know it.
