potsie, that's good analysis. The fade out makes perfect sense.
But then, some sort of all-encompassing bias against fade-outs just seems weird to me, since I have no problem at all with fade-outs, any more than fade-ins. Who cares? Do you want to listen to 'I Am the Walrus' - one of the most incredible recordings ever made, period - and tell me the fade out sucks? This really seems to me a non-problem.
