I get what you're saying, but this is technically inaccurate as Biebs, Nickleback, Celine Dion, Michael Buble and Shania are all much more popular than the Hip ever were, both in Canada and internationally. Even Arcade Fire probably chart higher. But I think your point is more that there was very little divide among people of a certain age group, and that is definitely true. When I was growing up everyone plus or minus five years of age was a huge fan. We all owned the albums and went to the shows.

I can see that happening again...but it would take another band with the total package of The Tragically Hip...and that is rare.
