One of the other reasons I would have WATS slightly edging out NFPA is Downie's over-reliance on the use of phrase and word repetition as a melodic device on NFPA. I think it subconsciously exhausts me to hear all that repetition and is part of the reason why by the time I reach track 9 or 10, I'm feeling done with the album (only to be rewarded for making it to the end by the mighty Goodnight Attawapiskat). It may also be another reason why the song MMP stands out from the rest of album as it is, strangely, the only song on the entire album not to repeat a word or short phrase at least three times. Here's what I mean:

3. The Lookahead – “It's a power of, power of, power of”

8. About this Map – “You want to, want to, want to”
9. Take Forever – “I am, I am, I am, I am in that chair”
10. Done and Done – “Yeah, through, through Through and through”
11. Goodnight Attawapiskat – “You're on your way You're on your way You're on the way”
