"Found a postcard in the basement from 1989
Gord Downie’s validation
Man I needed every line
Angst on the planks in Kingston
Straight out of KCVI."
This will definitely be my summer road trip album.
Here's an excellent interview from the Whig-Standard. Some cool stories from Hugh about growing up in Kingston with Gord and the other guys in the Hip.

Tour dates are starting to trickle in as well:
Jul 29 The Marquee Ballroom
Halifax, NS Canada
Got tickets for the Halifax show on July 29th, which will be my first Headstones show in 20 years. Saw them a bunch of times in the 1990's, where I got spit on by Hugh Dillon (affectionately, I like to think) at one show and asked for a weed connection while standing next to him at a urinal at another show.
I've listened to the album just once so far and love it. In addition to the "Angst on the planks" line you reference above, the other potential Hip nod I noted was the line "Was shaking but my hands are steady" from "Sunlight Kills the Stars". I recall a Headstones show at a small club in the mid 90's where the house music that played before the Headstones took the stage was the entire Road Apples album. Given this and the two RA references on this album, I'd have to think that Hugh has a particular affinity for that album.
One other thing I was reflecting on is how the Headstones have repeatedly made themselves part of my summer listening. My three favourite Headstones albums were released in June (Picture of Health: June 1, 1993; Teeth and Tissue: June 20, 1995; and Smile and Wave: June 15, 1996) and now we've got Little Army released on June 2, 2017. Not sure if this is intentional on the band's part, but I love the timing of it for BBQ season.
