Boyden's Wenjack: A companion to Secret Path
#4

I picked it up on Tuesday and read it in one sitting on Thursday night. I highly recommend it....well, I highly recommend anything Joseph Boyden writes.

I hadn't watched the screen at the Ottawa show, hadn't flipped through the book, and only read a few articles, so I didn't fully know or understand the entire story. After reading Wenjack, I learned more, and had a better understanding of Gord's lyrics, and so the Toronto show meant even more. Not really the right word for a matter such as this, but it is beautiful how the two fit together.

Boyden's Macleans article tells about how several artists were working on something for the 50th anniversary of Chanie's death. I like how Boyden explains how he struggled with the writing, and then switched to a novella. I think it worked.
