The biggest indictment of the Bob Rock years is that most of the songs, if not all, sound great live, but for me, wholly unlistenable as studio versions. Rock has done some solid work with bands like the Cult and the Offspring. He has completely destroyed others like the Hip and Metallica. Unlike WC and WATS, the production on MMP adds value. It's the first Hip album since PP that I don't skip over whole songs or in WC and WATS cases, whole albums.
