Beauty must be in the ear of the beholder . I find wats completely unlistenable. And I have to admit that my mind may really want to love this due to the circumstances. But, 6 of the 10 songs are really good or great. Machine is a great tune. I'm not getting tired of it and I really haven't loved anything they put out for a very long time. Nfpa was okay for a minute. Don smith is dead and gone. I'd love to hear them record another road apples. Dfn is my favorite by far. But this is sort of in this strange sweet spot for the band. Like they dialed back the crap and didn't quite go back to basics. Maybe a phantom power era feel to it. I dig it'.
