World Container Reviews - Official Thread

i find that WC is a culminating album...it makes sense of the previous three in many ways...

It has the unrestrained fearless/adventurous imagination and spirit of Music@Work...best displayed by Ocean and Pretend...with their undenaible and unapologetic meoldies. The intensity, focus, and raw emotion of IBE are on display as well, but this time, instead of sounding like they're on fire, scorching everything in their path...they sound like an ice storm...with cold calculation and icy precision being the order of the day. Finally, there's a very intimate and poignant feel to the album...both lyrically, and just the way the songs sound...as though Gord is singing to you one on one...which is what reminds me most of IVL. IMO, The Darkest One, or IAGLIYDW, would sound right at home on WC, and vice versa, I think In View and Fly would slide in perfectly somewhere on IVL...
