Lately, Mean Streak has been kicking my ass, and it hasn't before.
Same with Throwing Off Glass....

Music can be about time and place, when In Between Evolution came out I was in just purchased a new house mode, but I dutifully picked up the album and was shocked when it did not work for me…

and so began the five stages, Denial, this isn't happening - play the CD again... Anger, why is this happening - play the damn CD again. Then I started Bargaining... I sure it will grow on me if I just - pay the CD again, this gave way to Depression, perhaps the Hip have out grown me, perhaps I am no longer a true fan, finally Acceptance arrived, no I am a fan and all of this worrying over IBE is not getting the living room painted (actually my partner said that part!) – so I tossed on some Beatles (Don’t Let me Down) and started painting..

About six months ago I heard As Makeshift As We Are and thought what a great tune so I scrambled to locate the CD, found it in between Joshua Tree and No Sleep 'til Hammersmith... tossed it on and it was in rotation for a long long while

You know, back when Road Apples came out I wasn't crazy about it. I remember thinking that the Hip had lost their edge and were getting too soft. I put it on the shelf and didn't listen to it for a long time. Then about a year or so after that, I had it in the car for a road trip and played the hell out of it and it instantly became my favorite and remained so until Phantom Power came out.
