I think for most people, having a listening test may show them the difference between a Pono track, and a 192 kbps MP3 which is probably what the average person has on their phone or computer......
And maybe it is more of a "feeling" thing....... so no, you won't discover triangle parts you never heard before, but you may hear and feel, consciously OR subconsciously, more of the sounds you already are hearing, if that makes any sense.....
At the end of the day, some folks are happy with a $9 bottle of wine, while others with a more trained tongue, or taste-ego, only swear by their $90 bottles of Cab and Pinot........
That's why I'd love to have a hands on trial........ to see if a Pono track makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up..... because I think that's the thing they are going for.
