Well they wont be playing Brighton - a half million $ sounds like a lot of money for the Hip. Am I right?

It makes sense...figure $100 per ticket, for an arena show that has 10-15k people, that $1-1.5 million revenue for a show. I'd imagine half of that would go to the band.

For perspective, I remember close to 10 years ago, a friend worked for Ottawa Bluesfest and they looked into getting Eric Clapton, and it was going to cost $1 million.
